This couple reached out to us looking to update their home flooring, but there was a deeper reason behind the change. The existing floors had uneven transitions that didn't follow a consistent level, and over time, this started to impact their daily routine.
He lives with diabetic neuropathy, a condition that reduces sensitivity in the feet and significantly increases the risk of trips and falls — especially with small level changes that often go unnoticed by others.
Even so, they didn't want to compromise on aesthetics. The plan was to install tile in the kitchen and wood flooring throughout the rest of the home, without using traditional transition strips. To achieve this, every transition had to be carefully hand-cut, ensuring a seamless and level connection between materials.
